A MTV acaba de anunciar os nomeados para os MTV EMAs 2017, com Taylor Swift a liderar a corrida, com seis nomeações, incluindo para Melhor Vídeo, com Look What You Made Me Do, apresentado em agosto nos MTV VMAs. Em segunda lugar em número de nomeações está o cantor e compositor Shawn Mendes, que arrecadou cinco nomeações, incluindo Melhor Música e Melhor Artista, categoria na qual esta dupla vai lutar frente a frente pelo título.
Também indicados para Melhor Artista, Kendrick Lamar e Ed Sheeran somam quatro nomeações cada, incluindo para Best Local Act nas suas regiões de origem (Best US Act e Best UK & Ireland Act, respetivamente). O esmagador single Shape of You, de Sheeran, está, ainda, na luta para Melhor Música, concorrendo com Wild Thoughts, de DJ Khaled, There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back, de Shawn Mendes, Despacito (remix), de Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee com Justin Bieber, e Rockabye, de Clean Bandit.
Na luta pelo título nacional de Best Portuguese Act estão HMB, Mickael Carreira, Miguel Araújo, Overule e Virgul. Os 5 nomeados estão em votação em MTVEMA.COM e cabe aos fãs portugueses o poder de decidir quem será eleito Best Portuguese Act nos MTV EMAs 2017.
A cerimónia dos MTV EMA 2017 terá lugar no próximo dia 12 de novembro, domingo, a partir do The SSE Arena, em Wembley, Londres, com transmissão em direto na MTV Portugal, a partir das 19h00. A apresentação deste ano da cerimónia do MTV EMAs estará a cargo da estrela Rita Ora, também nomeada para a categoria de Melhor Look, tal como noticiado pelo A Televisão.
